Our Curriculum:
EARLY CHILDHOOD (PRE-K through 4th)
Language
Arts and Social Studies
We believe
literacy emerges naturally when children are immersed in an
environment that is rich in literature, writing and dramatizing
stories. We read and write integrating both phonics and whole
language.
Math and
Science
Problem solving is
the approach children use to explore the various math concepts. The
math curriculum encourages children to think by asking questions,
forming hypotheses, conducting experiments and analyzing
conclusions. We use every opportunity to classify, count, measure
and explore size through the use of games and manipulatives.
Arts
Creating and
interpreting the world artistically is a large part of our
curriculum. We paint, sculpt, draw, create collages, dramatize,
sing and learn through music.
Greek
Language
All students
participate in the study of Modern Greek as a foreign language.
Children not only read and write in Greek, but they participate
in various oral presentations that encompass language and
heritage study.
Physical
Education
Movement is an
important element of a child’s development. Sportsmanship is
also stressed as children participate in noncompetitive games
and activities.
